Questions
Straight answers.
What does it really cost?+
Two line items, always shown separately: our $99 service fee, and your state's own filing fee passed through at cost. Most standard LLC filings range from $35 (Montana) to $500 (Massachusetts); Tennessee is member-count based, $300 minimum and $3,000 maximum. No markups on the state fee; if the state's actual fee differs when we file, we refund or invoice the difference.
Can I just file with the state myself?+
Yes, every state accepts direct filings for just the state's fee, and we say so on every page. We're the done-for-you option: name checked, articles prepared correctly, filed, and tracked, with a money-back guarantee.
How fast is it?+
We prepare and submit promptly, and priority orders go to the front of the queue. State processing then varies, some states approve the same day, others take a few weeks. We track it and deliver your stamped documents the moment they arrive.
Do I need a registered agent?+
Every state requires one on the filing, a person with a street address in the state, available in business hours. Most small-business owners serve as their own, which is free and allowed everywhere; the wizard walks you through it. The one trade-off: the agent's address becomes public record.
What about newspaper publication (NY, AZ, NE)?+
Three states require newly formed LLCs to publish a notice in local newspapers. New York, Arizona (outside Maricopa and Pima counties), and Nebraska. We flag the requirement before you pay and explain it on those states' pages, but publication itself is arranged and paid by you directly with the newspapers (in New York it commonly runs $300–$1,200 depending on county). Our service covers preparing and filing the articles.
Should I form in Delaware or Wyoming like the internet says?+
For most small businesses, honestly: no. Forming outside your home state usually means registering in your home state anyway, two states' fees and reports instead of one. The common-sense default is the state where you actually do business. For advice about your situation, ask a professional.
