Privacy Policy

1. What we collect
To prepare and submit filings we collect the information the government forms require: business details, contact information, and, for EIN applications, the responsible party's name and Social Security Number or ITIN. We also collect order and payment metadata, and standard website analytics.
2. How we use it
- To complete your filing. Your information is used to prepare and submit your application to the IRS or your state, and for nothing else without your consent.
- To support you. Order status, delivery, and support correspondence.
- To operate the business. Payment processing, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.
3. Sensitive data (SSN/ITIN)
Social Security Numbers and ITINs are collected solely because the IRS requires them on Form SS-4. They are encrypted in transit and at rest, access is restricted to the personnel completing your filing, and they are never sold, shared for marketing, or used for any purpose other than your filing.
A signed Form SS-4 uploaded through your private order link is sanitized to a one-page PDF, encrypted at rest, and restricted to filing personnel. Do not send signed forms or tax identification numbers by email.
4. Who we share with
Only the parties needed to deliver the service: the government agency receiving your filing, our payment processor, and the infrastructure providers that host our systems (database, email delivery). Each receives only what its role requires. We do not sell personal information.
5. SMS and mobile opt-in data
If you choose to receive text messages, we may collect your mobile number, SMS consent status, consent source and timestamp, message content, delivery status, and STOP or HELP requests. We use this information only to operate Standard Filings order and support messaging, complete or support your order, prevent abuse, and comply with law.
We do not sell, rent, or share text messaging originator opt-in data or consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. We may disclose SMS data to messaging service providers, carriers, aggregators, and infrastructure vendors only as needed to deliver messages, manage STOP and HELP requests, secure the service, support your order, or comply with law. See our SMS Terms and Privacy.
6. Retention
An unfinished application saved on our server for recovery is automatically deleted after seven days. A browser-local copy is also cleared when the wizard is revisited after that period. An email-reminder opt-out is retained separately so that the preference remains effective if a new draft is started.
If a Stripe Checkout session expires without payment, its pending order record is retained briefly so the same application can be retried, then removed seven days after expiration.
Order records are retained as required for tax, accounting, and dispute purposes. You may request deletion of your data beyond what law requires us to keep by emailing admin@standardfilings.com.
7. Your rights
You can request a copy, correction, or deletion of your personal information at any time. Residents of states with privacy statutes (including California) may exercise the rights those laws provide by contacting us using the details in Section 9 below.
8. Cookies and analytics
We use necessary cookies for the Site to function and analytics to understand aggregate usage. Advertising measurement, where used, is disclosed and configurable through your browser settings.
